Beneath Our Feet

3 June to 17 September 2017

Whilst the story of Abingdon County Hall and its Market Place in centre of the town begins in Anglo-Saxon England, there is evidence of a settlement much older - and possibly the oldest continually inhabited settlement in England. This exhibition explores the physical evidence of the history and culture of societies which came before the Saxons, who have contributed to creating the site we now know as Abingdon County Hall and Market Place - all from archaeological evidence beneath our feet.

The exhibition will be in the Sessions Gallery from 3 June to 17 September 2017.
