Clubs & Societies

Abingdon-on-Thames is fortunate to have an exciting array of local clubs and societies. Full list here.

Call at the Information Centre at Guildhall for ideas or to browse through a paper copy of the listing.

Every two years the town council organise and host a Clubs and Societies Day. Venues have included Guildhall and also the medieval buildings of Abingdon Abbey. Over fifty clubs and societies come together to promote and recruit.

Clubs and societies have stalls at Fun in the Park on the first weekend in June and many theatrical and musical performers take part.. This can be a leisurely way of speaking with enthusiasts on a subject, but not all societies are represented. The next biennieal Clubs and Societies Day is due to take place in the spring of 2018.

The town council also encourage local clubs and societies to apply for a community grant – for further information see Community Grants.

If your club or society is not listed in this section and you think it ought to be please contact info@abingdon.gov.uk for further details on how to submit your details to the listings in this website.
