Your Local Representatives

There are three tiers within Oxfordshire’s local government structure:

Each council is represented by councillors who are voted by the local electorate every four years. For lists of the councillors for each body click on each title below:

The local Member of Parliament (MP) for Oxford West and Abingdon is Nicola Blackwood and represents you in the House of Commons. The House of Commons is responsible for making laws in the UK and for overall scrutiny of all aspects of government. 

Member of the European Parliament (MEP) – there are seven South East MEPs who represent you in the European Parliament. They scrutinise proposed European laws and the budget of the European Union, and provide oversight of its other decision-making bodies.

The Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner is Anthony Stansfield.
