Film: The Bentley Effect

Thursday, 7 June 2018 - 7:30pm

Ever wondered what can be done to stop fracking?

Abingdon Quakers, assisted by ABCD Film Society, are showing The Bentley Effect, the extraordinary (but true) story of people from all walks of life who came together to defend their community in Australia and successfully defied a gas giant using non-violent, direct action.  This award-winning documentary is a 6-year labour of love by the producer/director Brendan Shoebridge, and has been labelled “One of the most important films of the Century”. The stunning documentary runs for 1hr25minutes and will be followed by a Q&A with local activists.
