Oxford Flood Alleviation Scheme pop-up information event

Saturday, 1st April10:00am-3:00pm

The Oxford Flood Alleviation Scheme will lower parts of the floodplain in Oxford to make more space for water and reduce flood risk to the city. Areas outside Oxford will benefit due to less disruption to transport links around Oxford.

We are holding pop-up events in Oxford and surrounding areas to raise awareness of the scheme in time for a public consultation in May 2017.

We be at the community free space on Saturday 1 April from 10am to 3pm. Information will be on display in the windows of the community free space from 27 March to 1 April.

With us will be colleagues from other projects working in Abingdon.

  1. The Abingdon flood scheme is building a small flood defence wall at St Helen’s Mill and are investigating other possibilities to reduce flooding in Abingdon from the River Ock.
  2. The Supporting Communities Remaining at Risk (temporary defences) project is improving how the Environment Agency deploys temporary defences in Abingdon.

Come and have a chat with us to find out more about what is happening in your local area.
