Appleford fete 15th June 2019

Appleford Fete on 15th June is part of the celebrations of the opening of the railway to Oxford175 years ago. It will appeal to all family members. The steam theme features steam trains passing the fair ground (courtesy of GWR) and steam traction engines on the field, and railway history displays. Food stalls, cream teas, local beers, curries and barbeques. Children’s stalls, rides, shows.  For pet lovers a dog show, Abingdon Dog Training Club, and an animal sanctuary. stalls for toys, books, confectionary, cakes, plants and more.  Exhibition displays of local activity groups and businesses. vintage tractors and cars are in planning. Village sideshows provide traditional events, tombola, raffles, bottle stall, coconuts shy and more. GWR is supporting all events by running special trains and buses between Didcot (Railway Centre), Long Wittenham (Pendon Model Railway), Appleford and Culham. We expect a large crowd.
