Flooding

Flood Defences, Flood Warnings and Flood Emergencies are co-ordinated by the Environment Agency.

For more information and the opportunity to register for Flood Warnings, click here.

The Environment Agency are responsible for the management of classified main rivers and this includes the Ock as well as the Thames.

There are several volunteer Flood Action Groups in Abingdon-on-Thames. Such groups are advised to register with the District Council (contact Peter Dela) so that enquiries from members of the public can be forwarded to the group. Groups that have registered may also submit details to this website so that other town residents can make contact with them. Please use the sideways "feedback" tab at the far right of the screen.

The Town Council have plans to hold a "Flood Fair" in January providing residents with information about protecting themselves against flooding and coping with an emergency. If you would like an email about this as soon as details are confirmed please contact events@abingdon.gov.uk
