The Mayor was pleased to welcome civic guests from the other towns in the area, such as Didcot and Thame, as well as residents of the town, friends and supporters. Due to the closure of the Guildhall a local alternative was sought and the Frilford Heath Golf Club hosted the event providing a wonderfully green backdrop to the photos taken as the guests arrived. The Mayor is also planning to hold another ball in April next year and anyone wishing to put their... more

Excitement is growing in Abingdon-on-Thames at the news that Her Majesty the Queen's 90th Birthday is going to bring on one of those very special royal moments for the town. Wristbands for Music in the Park are set to sell out again this year
Published on: 21 May 2016
Councillors have asked that the public be clearly told that Music in the Park wristbands may not be on sale for much longer. As in previous years the demand is looking like it will outstrip the available number of places which are limited for safety reasons. This year the selling of wristbands online appears to have increased the speed at which wristbands are selling and 30% of sales have been though the online sales site even though there is a booking fee when ordering wristbands this way. For those who wish to pay by card this is the way to get your wristbands and you can select whether to... more

Wristbands are essential for the evening Music in the Park event on 4th June
Published on: 13 May 2016
Music in the Park wristbands will be available this Saturday14th May from the Market Place (cash/cheque payments). Town councillors want to make sure that everyone has had the opportunity to hear about the event and buy their wristbands so this extra buying opportunity has been slotted in at short notice as the wristbands are selling fast. The tickets are always limited by safety considerations and this year's sales are already well over the half way mark. This year around 30% of sales are coming through the brand-new online sales site (see below) which allows sales by credit or debit card... more
