Crowds enjoying the music at Music in the Park last year

This year it is easier than ever to buy your wristband for Music in the Park as there is now an online sales option. Customers can purchase wristbands and choose whether to have them delivered by signed-for Royal Mail delivery to their own home or place of work, or whether to secure the booking and then pick up the wristbands at their leisure from the Information Centre when they are next in town. Sponsors this year are local estate agents, Davis Tate, who will be partly using their presence on the day to raise awareness of the work of the Amber Phillpott Trust. Music in the Park wristbands now available

Today the Information Centre at the Guildhall was busy with local residents coming in to get their wristbands for Music in the Park. The number of places available has been increased this year but fans are still advised to get their wristbands as early as possible as each year they seem to sell out a bit earlier than the previous year. The Information Centre is open for wristband enquiries from 9.30am to 3.00pm each weekday and also on Saturdays. Richard III abingdon museum lecture battle bosworth war of the roses

On February 19 BBC historical advisor Gareth Howell returns to Abingdon to deliver another of his engaging talks on military history. Visitors are invited to see a stunning display of artwork from two Berkshire artists, Bill Pike and Diccon Dadey. The pair have teamed up with Abingdon Museum in creating scenes of movement and motion found in nature, from capturing the moment of ducks landing in metallic sculpture, to the rippling reflections of the Thames at Abingdon.  The exhibition is located on the first floor sessions gallery and the museum is free to visit Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm, and Sunday 11am-5pm.  On February 20th visitors will have the opportunity to meet the artists to find out how they produce their wonderful... more
