This year the Council has allocated a sum of £18,000 for grants for local clubs and societies.   Grants are allocated each quarter and the Council is now accepting applications for consideration at the September meeting of the Community Services Committee - the closing date is 5th September.   The Council is keen that as many clubs and societies as possible apply for and benefit from the grants available. It was originally intended that the Community Led Plan would be launched with consultation events in July 2017.  However matters have been delayed for a number of reasons not least of which was the extended period of “purdah” relating to the County and General elections which severely restricted our ability progress matters , issue publicity and engage the public.  We have therefore postponed the launch events until September.  This will give a longer lead time to publicise the events so we can have a meaningful consultation and ensure as many people as possible are able to get involved.
