The Council is pleased to confirm that at its meeting of Wednesday 25th April it agreed to the principle of renting the Abbey Hall to the Regal Cinema of Evesham until the summer of 2020. This is now subject to formal legal agreement but this should not delay matters and in the meantime works have commenced to enable the cinema to move in.

Abingdon-on-Thames Town Council are pleased to confirm that the new bridge leading from St Helen’s Court into the Ock Valley Walk has recently been installed and the Ock Valley Walk is now open to the public again. In accordance with the Town Council's drive to be environmentally friendly the new bridge is made out of recycled plastic. This also means that its construction is much more sturdy than the previous old wooden bridge.  We are pleased the Ock Valley Walk is open for the spring and hopefully the weather will now improve too!

We are pleased to say that the new footbridge for the Ock Valley Walk (St Helen's Court) has been manufactured and delivered. Unfortunately, installation of the new bridge has been delayed due to the inclement weather and flood warnings on the River Ock and Thames. It is hoped that installation will begin week commencing 9th April if the water level and flows permit.
