Fun and Music in the Park

Both Fun and Music in the Park take place in the Abbey Grounds and for everyone’s safety Abbey Close will be closed to traffic all day. The Abbey Close car park (immediately adjacent to the Abbey Grounds) will also be closed. Fun in the Park This event starts at 10.30am and ends at 3.30 pm. There are just a few wristbands remaining for this Saturday's "Music in the Park." The event takes place in the Abbey Grounds - gates open 5pm and the event ends with the traditional firework display at 10pm. If you have already ordered your wristbands online and chosen to collect them ahead of the event, these must be collected from the Council's offices at Roysse Court. To assist those who may not be able to collect their wristbands, we have arranged to open last this Thursday evening, so you may now collect your wristbands either Thursday from 9am to 7pm; or Friday, 9am to 4pm. DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.  Why not drop in to meet the artist Robert Strange on Saturday 2nd June at Abingdon Museum and find out about the inspiration and technique behind this exhibition of work. Robert Strange will be at the museum from 10.30 to 3pm. FREE

On Saturday 2nd June 2018 the Abbey Gardens will fill up with rides, face painting,  live music and dance, some great street food stalls, bouncy inflatables and much more. There will be performances on the stage and there will be stalls for local societies and Community groups to advertise their activities and the work they do and potentially sign up new members. Fun in the Park takes place from 10:30 am to 3:30pm and is a free, walk-in event. Music in the Park will take place from 5pm to 10pm on the same day. Please see below a reminder from the Vale of White Horse District Council regarding Spring Bank Holiday bin collection changes - Vale of White Horse District Council is reminding householders of the usual changes to their waste collections during the week following Spring Bank Holiday Monday. There will be no waste collections on Bank Holiday Monday 28 May. Everyone’s bins will then be emptied one day later than usual for the rest of that week. This includes households who normally have their bins emptied on a Friday – crews will be working on Saturday 2 June to catch up as normal on a bank... more

Wednesday, 30th May 2018 (12 - 2 pm) Taking inspiration from Robert Strange's vivid drawings of sweet wrappers and discarded items, kids can create colourful paper works with guidance from the artist himself. Kids Craft Session with Robert Strange will be held in the Sessions Gallery.  FREE (donations suggested at £1 per person)
