The Ragged Victorians will be in Abingdon this weekend

The first of the talks around the Victorian-themed Heritage Weekend have begun and there is plenty more to follow. Friday night's talk is about Albert Park which celebrates a centenary this year. Thames water have announced that the OX14 area of Abingdon may be experiencing issues with water supplies. Incidents of low pressure and ‘foul’ smelling water issuing from taps have been reported. Dragon Boats will be competing up and down the river tomorrow (Sunday 7th September) with around 20 teams paddling furiously to win the one-day competition and raise money for charity. If past years are anything to go by they will also be wearing some interesting fancy dress!
