South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse district councils have made it even easier for residents to check which bin their waste items go in by using the councils’ new recycling wheels. The councils have produced the wheels to help increase recycling rates by promoting the kerbside recycling collections and making sure residents are putting the right things in the right bins. Please see below an update from Vale of White Horse District Council regarding Waste Collections: Your recycling and waste collections Update waste collections week commencing 4 February 2019 The snow last Friday (1 February) caused unsafe driving conditions for our waste trucks so we decided to cancel our waste collections  on that day. We will begin catching up on Monday 4 February. Unfortunately this will have a knock-on effect on collections for the rest of the week.  Our advice is that if your bins aren't emptied on your scheduled collection day, please leave them out for three days... more

Please see message from The Vale of White Horse District Council regarding Bin collection: Bin collections affected by adverse weather Released on February 1, 2019  Update 1 February 2019 - waste collections The overnight snow has caused unsafe driving conditions for our waste trucks so we have decided to cancel our waste collections today. GUILDHALL REOPENS AFTER REFURBISHMENT OPEN WEEKEND 16th-17th FEBRUARY The Guildhall buildings are now open for hire after extensive refurbishment. The team which runs the Abbey Cinema in the 1960s extension to the Guildhall and the Unicorn in the Abbey Buildings, is now managing the Guildhall facility on behalf of the Town Council. The Mouse hole café, located in the basement of Abingdon Town Hall, is turning 60 this weekend! The café is open 10AM- 4PM Saturday 19th January and to celebrate its birthday all hot drinks will be only 60p!! So come along and join the celebrations.

Every third Saturday of the month, three talks will take place around the museum galleries.
