A Special Parish Meeting was held on 15th January 2018 to discuss the Abbey Hall and the Guildhall. However due to space constraints not everyone was able to get in to the meeting. Consequently the Mayor offered to organise a meeting for those who could not get in. Since the closure The Town Council have set aside funds to replace the bridge with a more robust and sturdy construction to ensure it is safe for public use. The Town Council are currently consulting with The Environment Agency about whether their plans for Flood Alleviation would affect the construction of the new bridge. We hope to have this confirmed and repairs started as soon as possible. The Town Council Website... more
