Abingdon-on-Thames has a thriving and close-knit business community. A range of networking organisations and business groups exists to encourage local links and facilitate a strong local commitment to spending money with local suppliers when possible. Several of our larger corporate businesses are contributors of time, expertise and funding contributions to community projects and events. In addition, councils and business leaders maintain important dialogues which have resulted in business-friendly initiatives becoming part of local policy. Two hours free parking in town car parks, a shop-front grant scheme and public sector financial support for business development are just some of the initiatives.
