This section of the website is to help local residents find out more about the place they live in, access services that are available and reach organisations and institutions that are there to help.

If you prefer a face to face chat with someone who can provide much of this information pop into the Town Council front desk at the Guildhall main entrance (the modern part of the building) on Abbey Close. There is a disabled ramp alongside the steps which are just by the archway between the Guildhall and St Nicolas Church. The Desk Staff are available to help with queries about the town during the hours of 9am-5pm weekdays and 10am-3pm Saturdays.


In Abingdon-on-Thames there are still a range of places where you can get information or advice from a friendly face, not just a computer screen or a phone service! Whether its bus times and opening times, help with family problems or some information about the town or the local services, there are a number of organisations you can turn to in the town centre. Abingdon Guildhall dates back to the 1400s. It is a unique, historic building but one which, being built over so many different levels, cannot be fully accessed by many people in the community.
