The Science Festival

Newest among the annual events in the Abingdon-on-Thames town calendar, the ATOM! Science Festival has taken place since 2014  and celebrates the concentration of scientific companies and organisations in the surrounding area, as well as encouraging young people to think positively about scientific subject choices and careers.
atom_postcard_side_2.jpgAbingdon is a favourite place for scientists to choose as their home town; there is always a strong interest in all the events from the most intellectual to the fun and family-friendly.

ATOM Science & Technology Festival 2017, running from Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th March, will inspire children, interest adults and make everyone more aware of the amazing cutting-edge research and development going on around the medieval market town of Abingdon-on-Thames.

BBC science presenter, Jim Al Khalili will be giving a talk on Friday 24th March and there are many other exciting topics and speakers, a Science Market with hands-on activities for families and a children's book presentation "How to be an Astronaut" on the Sunday afternoon.
