Fishing Season 2020 and Permits

Published on:

05 Jun 2020

The fishing season 16th June to 14th March all anglers must be registered. This is a reminder that in line with the government regulations and guidance regarding Covid-19 and social distancing you do not need to come to the Information Office to renew your permit. For local people last year's permit is still valid. Register with us, keep this permit number as a permanent one and you should take the permit with you at all times when fishing. Carry permit, rod licence, proof of address.

Aged 16 or over please email your full Name and Address to enquiries@abingdon.gov.uk . We will confirm by e-mail that we have issued you with a permit and added you to the register. Ages over 12 to 16 a parent is welcome to email and provide the essential proof of address. This age range must obtain and carry a rod licence which does not cost anything.

For locals new to town, visitors who live beyond three miles of Abingdon Guildhall and for all match enquiries email to register.

The Terms and conditions of fishing can be found here and must be read and complied with by all.

Our permit allows you to fish on the land occupied by the 'Abingdon Waters'. By law you stil need a licence an Environment Agency 'Rod LIcence'. For more information on the fishing tackle and equipment needed to fish correctly and for Rod Licences please click here.

Anglers from outside town are able to buy a permit to fish at low cost. Please apply in good time and an arrangement will be made for payment by BACS or cheque.
