Flood Warning for Abingdon

Flood alert issued 22nd December - following heavy rain recently, a flood alert has been issued for the River Ock, from Watchfield to Abingdon.

Over the next few days the weather forecast is atrocious and so the situation can only deteriorate.  Both yellow and amber weather warnings are in place and the latest 5 day weather forecast and details of weather warnings is accessed by clicking here

In the eventuality of problems resulting from flooding, the District Council along with the County Council will in the first instance co-ordinate the local response, including the supply of sandbags if necessary.  Click here to reach the relevant section of the District Council website 

The Town Council is prepared and will monitor the situation with regard to its own responsibilities and response and will of course assist the other authorities as necessary. Updates will follow as necessary.
